Energy Efficiency and Conservation

HK Electric is committed to nurturing environmental awareness among our business partners while educating the public on the smart and efficient use of energy. We provide funding and a variety of services to help customers enhance energy efficiency and conservation.

Smart Power Services

Addressing the community's aspirations for cleaner air, and in support of the Government's energy and environmental policy objectives and its long-term decarbonisation strategy, HK Electric provides a suite of Smart Power Services to help customers reduce carbon footprint in daily living and business operations. In addition to promoting energy efficiency and conservation (EE&C), HK Electric also encourages the use of renewable energy and adoption of a smart low-carbon lifestyle through the following funding and service schemes under the Smart Power Services. Through the following online and offline channels and activities, HK Electric provides customers and stakeholders with information and experiences related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, low-carbon lifestyle, smart and green technologies.

Carbon Calculator

To provide you with more information on protecting the environment, we have also introduced a Carbon Calculator on our corporate website for calculating the total annual carbon dioxide emission from your electricity consumption over the past 12 months. Customers can also use our "Carbon Footprint" in "Energy Calculator" of our smart phone application "Low Carbon App" to calculate the annual carbon dioxide emission from electricity consumption.

For more information on carbon emissions, you can also visit the Low Carbon Living Calculator designed by The Environment Bureau. The Calculator helps the public assess and learn how to reduce their carbon emissions towards a low-carbon living in respect of clothing, food, living and travel.
