What is the service scope of SPEA?

The purpose of SPEA is to help our non-residential customers identify energy saving opportunities for improving energy efficiency at their business premises. Our service will cover site inspection of business premises, analysis of energy efficiency performance, identification of energy saving opportunities and submission of audit report on findings and recommendations.

Shall I pay for the SPEA service?

SPEA service provided by HK Electric is free of charge.

Who is eligible to apply SPEA?

Registered customers of HK Electric's Non-Residential Tariff or Maximum Demand Tariff electricity accounts (excluding electricity accounts of the HKSAR Government) with the floor area of the premises to be audited is 15,000 m2or below.

How can I submit my SPEA application?

You may submit to HK Electric a duly completed SPEA Application Form (available at HK Electric's website) by email to SPEA@hkelectric.com.

How long will it take to carry out on-site audit?

It depends on the floor area of the premises to be audited and the nature of customer business operation.

Is it compulsory for me to implement the energy saving opportunities or recommendations mentioned in the energy audit report?

No, the energy saving opportunities or recommendations listed in the energy audit report is for your reference only. It is at the sole discretion of the customers to implement those recommended measures. If you implement any of them in the future, you are required to notify and allow us to carry out on-site verification for the implemented measures.
