Energy-efficient Community Subsidy Programme
HK Electric provides subsidies for the implementation of low-carbon living projects at eligible premises in HK Electric's supply territory, which enable the premises users to adopt low-carbon lifestyle and/or embrace energy efficiency, improve indoor environment and/or bring social benefits.
Eligible Premises (Category 1) - Full subsidy capped at HK$500,000 per eligible premises
Eligible Premises (Category 2) - Full subsidy capped at HK$300,000 per eligible premises
Eligible Premises
Category 1: Premises operated by non-profit-making NGOs for provision of education, community, welfare or transitional housing services; non-government kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, higher education institutions, or associated student facilities.
Category 2: Premises operated by small and medium enterprises, which are residential care homes for the elderly or persons with disabilities, child care centres, fitness centres, beauty parlours, licensed guesthouses, clubhouses, or premises for food license holders, laundry trade or dishware washing trade.
Eligible Projects
Turnkey retrofitting, upgrading or new installation of energy-efficient electrical facilities, equipment, installations or appliances for kitchen, laundry or water heating at the eligible premises listed above.
Procedures
Submit application form and the required documents.
HK Electric to vet application and carry out pre-project inspection.
Award contract upon HK Electric's approval and complete installation.
HK Electric to disburse the subsidy after satisfactory post-installation inspection.
Smart to Care Subsidy Programme
HK Electric provides subsidies for implementation of gerontechnology or smart technology projects at eligible premises in HK Electric's supply territory, which
provide an energy-efficient, safe, comfortable and/or
convenient environment for the premises users.
Eligible Premises (Category 1) - Full subsidy capped at HK$300,000 per eligible premises
Eligible Premises (Category 2) - Full subsidy capped at HK$150,000 per eligible premises
Eligible Premises
Category 1: Premises operated by non-profit-making NGOs for provision of caring, rehabilitation or residential services to the elderly, children or persons with disabilities.
Category 2: Premises operated by small and medium enterprises for provision of caring, rehabilitation or residential services to the elderly, children or persons with disabilities.
Eligible Projects
Turnkey implementation of gerontechnology or smart technology equipment/systems at the eligible premises listed above.
Procedures
Submit application form and the required documents.
HK Electric to vet application and carry out pre-project inspection.
Award contract upon HK Electric's approval and complete installation.
HK Electric to disburse the subsidy after satisfactory post-project inspection.

Energy-efficient Appliances Subsidy Programme
Eligible households living in HK Electric's supply territory may apply for a one-off subsidy up to HK$5,000 for:

Replacement of existing household electrical appliances by more energy-efficient models

Provision of new energy-efficient household electrical appliances

Provision of handy improvement works for safe use of electricity
Eligibility

Beneficiaries of the Government's Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme; or

Customers participating in HK Electric's Concessionary Tariff Schemes; or
-
Eligible households of sub-divided units (SDUs); or
-
The household resides at transitional housing.
