HK Electric Engineer conducting lecture
The first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Poly U) on 30 November 2015. One of the collaboration projects is the co-teaching of the "High Voltage Engineering" course under their Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree programme to groom power engineers for the industry.
The collaboration also covered undergraduate programmes including industrial lectures, visits to workshops and facilities of HK Electric, participation of HK Electric Engineers as mentors in the mentoring scheme for students, co-supervision of final-year projects undertaken by both undergraduates and postgraduates.
A renewed Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 30 November 2018. Apart from the on-going collaboration projects, HK Electric participated in the teaching of a new course "Modern Generation Technologies and Grid Integration" under the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering programme of Poly U in 2020. Topics covering the latest power generation technologies such as combined-cycle gas turbines and use of renewable energy are included in the course.
