Committed to caring for the community, HK Electric has set up Smart Power Care Fund to subsidise the needy to adopt low-carbon living styles, improve living environment and electrical safety.
HK Electric provides full subsidies (capped at HK$500,000 per eligible premises) for non-governmental organisations (NGOs), social housing organisations and non-government schools to implement low-carbon living projects which enable students and the needy to adopt low-carbon living styles, improve indoor environment and bring social benefits.
Premises wholly-owned/operated by non-profit-making NGOs for provision of education, community, welfare or social housing services; and non-government schools located in HK Electric's supply territory are elgibile to apply.
Retrofitting, upgrading and/or addition of energy-efficient electrical facilities, equipment or installations for kitchen/catering, laundry, water heating or other uses, as well as energy-efficient electrical appliances, which are for communal use at the eligible premises listed above.
HK Electric provides full subsidies (capped at HK$300,000 per eligible premises) for elderly/children and rehabilitation centres to implement low-carbon living projects which provide an energy-efficient, safe and comfort environment for their beneficiaries.
Premises wholly-owned/operated by non-profit-making NGOs for provision of elderly/children caring or rehabilitation services located in HK Electric's supply territory are eligible to apply.
Implementation of gerontechnology or smart technology equipment/systems (e.g. Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, data analytics and visualisation etc.) at eligible premises listed above.
Eligible households living in HK Electric's supply area may apply for a one-off subsidy up to HK$5,000 for:

Eligible SDU households living in HK Electric's supply area may apply for a one-off subsidy for rewiring and installation of separate electricity tariff meters capped at HK$15,000 per SDU (subject to an overall cap of HK$45,000 for the flat before subdivision). The applicant shall obtain prior consent of other SDU households in the flat, the landlord and Building Owners' Corporations.
Eligible SDU households without individual HK Electric's tariff meters may apply for a subsidy of HK$500 per household per year.
