1. How to download the HK Electric App?
You can search for "HK Electric / 港燈" at App Store (iOS/Apple device users) or Google Play (Android device users) or Huawei AppGallery (Huawei device users).
2. How can I login the App?
Please login the App with the username/electricity account number and password of your Account-On-Line (AOL) account. If you are the registered customer of the electricity account and have not yet registered for our AOL service, please simply register for an AOL account via the App.
Moreover, you can enable the biometric login at “Settings” after login, so that you can simply use FaceID/ fingerprint for future login, without inputting the AOL account information and password. You can also update the Biometric Authentication in "Settings" of the App.
3. How to add more electricity accounts to an AOL account?
Each AOL account can manage up to 20 electricity accounts.
You can add new electricity accounts into your AOL account under “Add Account to AOL” at “Settings” and complete the registration procedures as instructed.
4. What can I do if I have forgot my password?
Please click “Forgot Password?” at the login page. Input your account information and contact email address of AOL account to reset the password.
You can enable the biometric login in "Settings" after successful login so that you don't have to input any AOL account information and password for future login.
5. Why the function of "Projected Next Bill" is not available in the App?
The function is available for smart meter accounts only and also requires at least 7 days of data. It will not be available if there are less than 7 days after the last scheduled billing date.
6. Are there any special features available for smart meter accounts?
The following features are available for smart meter accounts only:
- Consumption Details – Half-hourly data up to 12 hours ago will generally be accessible, so are the daily and monthly data. Such data will be kept and made available for up to 25 months.
- Consumption alert – When the consumption reached the selected percentage of the consumption of the last billing cycle, you will receive a notification.
- Projected Next Bill – Project consumption and amount up to next scheduled billing date. However, it requires at least 7 days of data. The function will not be available if there are less than 7 days after the last scheduled billing date.
7. Can I check the half-hourly and daily consumption data if I have not yet installed the smart meter?
The half-hourly and daily consumption is only available for smart meter accounts. Yet, other customers can still track the billed consumption records for the past 25 months and compare consumptions for each month in previous year and current year.
8. How to view the information of another electricity account under the same AOL account?
If you have more than one electricity account under your AOL account, you can change to view another electricity account by clicking the account number picker at the top of "Home", "Service" and "Settings" sections.
9.How to change the language setting of the App?
You can change the App language in "Settings". You can choose English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese.
10. How to change the display preference (bill balance or consumption) of the "Home" section?
You can change it under "Display Preference" in "Settings".
11. How to change the form of receiving electricity bills?
You can update the information by clicking "Forms of Receiving Bills" under "Update Electricity Account Information" in "Settings".
12. How to unlink my other login methods with HK Electric App?
If you have linked your AOL account with iAM Smart, Google account, Facebook account and/or Apple ID through HK Electric App before, you can unlink the relevant account(s) under "Manage Login Method" in "Settings".
