Tariff Comparison (2020 vs 2019)
- The Government has been providing every residential customer a monthly electricity charge relief of HK$50 since January 2019, to last until end 2023. For 2020, there will be an additional $2,000 for each customer who will get $160 monthly from January to November, with the remaining $240 to be paid out in December.
- The table below shows the tariffs for various consumption levels in January 2020, all being lower than the same time in 2019.

- HK Electric will waive the 2020 tariff increase for around 70,000 non-residential customers (determined by consumption levels in 2019) for 6 months from January 2020.
- The Government will provide an electricity subsidy to cover 75% of electricity charges for 4 months in early 2020, capped at $5,000 per month per eligible customer, pending funding approval by the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council.
