e-Bill and Autopay/FPS Promotion

e-Bill and Autopay Promotion

To promote an environmentally friendly and low carbon lifestyle, electricity accounts switching to use e-Bill and autopay / Faster-Payment-System (FPS) during the promotion period between 1 June and 31 December 2021 will be rewarded with a one-off $30 incentive for offsetting electricity charges or for donating to one of the designated green groups.

Setup Direct Debit Authorisation with Bank Accounts or Credit Cards

  • For Residential Customers:
    • Call us at 2887 3411 to authorise the autopay setup with your savings or current accounts at any designated banks in Hong Kong.
    • Complete the Direct Debit Authorisation Form for any savings or current bank accounts in Hong Kong, and return the original copy to our Customer Centre.
    • Set up autopay authorization via internet banking service provided by some banks. Please contact your bank for details.
    • Complete the autorisation form if you would like to setup the autopay with your DBS/COMPASS VISA/Bank of China/Chiyu Bank/Nanyang Commercial Bank credit cards, and return the original copy to our Customer Centre.
    • Call American Express Customer Service Hotline if you are the card holder (the telephone no. is printed on the back of your AE Card).
  • For Non-residential Customers:
    • Complete the Direct Debit Authorisation Form for any savings or current bank accounts in Hong Kong, and return the original copy to our Customer Centre.
    • Call American Express Customer Service Hotline if you are the card holder (the telephone no. is printed on the back of your AE Card).

(The direct debit authorisation process takes about 2-3 weeks to complete. Upon successful authorisation, your monthly bill will be paid automatically by debiting your bank account or credit card account on the eighth working day from the meter reading date.)

Setup auto-debit payment function using AlipayHK

AlipayHK users who has linked up their electricity accounts may setup the auto-debit function for bill payment. The billing amount will be debited automatically when the new bill is ready. For more details about AlipayHK, please click here.

(The auto-debit authorization via AlipayHK will be processed immediately. Upon successful application, your monthly bill will be paid automatically by debiting through your AlipayHK account on the eighth working day from the meter reading date.)


"Account-On-Line" (AOL) Service

The e-Bill service is available to our Account-On-Line (AOL) users. The Account-On-Line (AOL) service provides you round-the-clock interactive access to your electricity account and offer a variety of services; such as:

  • Settle the account using AlipayHK or FPS instantly
  • View/Download last 12 electricity bills
  • Check 12-month billing and payment records, and 25-month consumption record
  • Receive the electricity bills by email (up to 6 email addresses), SMS or fax
  • Manage up to 20 electricity accounts in one AOL account
  • Manage the account – e-receipt subscription, changing bill language and forms of receiving bills, etc.
  • Access information on supply interruptions within the past 24 hours as well as planned shutdowns

Login "Account-On-Line" with the Government "iAM Smart"

Customers can login HK Electric's "Account-On-Line (AOL)" service with the Government "iAM Smart". After initial set-up for "Login with iAM Smart", customers can simply use "iAM Smart" for future login of AOL account, without inputting theAOL username/account number and password. e-Bill and Autopay/FPS Promotion - Terms and Conditions

  1. The promotion period is from 1 June 2021 to 31 December 2021 (both dates inclusive, also called "Promotion Period").
  2. The promotion offer is exclusive to HK Electric electricity accounts. Each eligible electricity account is entitled to receive a one-off $30 incentive for offsetting electricity charges or donating to one of the designated green groups.
  3. Eligible electricity accounts for the promotion offer refers to those accounts which are:
    • Switching to e-Bill & Autopay
      • switching to e-Bill and autopay during the Promotion Period; or
      • currently using autopay and switching to e-Bill during the Promotion Period; or
      • currently using e-Bill and switching to autopay during the Promotion Period
    • Switching to e-Bill & FPS
      • switching to e-Bill and using FPS to settle the bill for at least 3 times during the Promotion Period
  4. The promotion offer is only applicable to those electricity accounts which have successfully completed the following procedures (whichever is later) during the Promotion Period:
    • all activation and verification processes for receiving e-Bills are completed; and
    • the autopay application is approved by the bank or designated credit card issuers, or the auto-debit payment function via AlipayHK app is activated; or
    • the bills are settled by FPS for at least 3 times.
  5. Upon the conditions under item (4) are fulfilled, a $30 incentive will be (a) automatically credited to those eligible electricity accounts who have chosen the option for offsetting electricity charges; or (b) donated to one of the following green groups chosen during AOL/e-Bill registration via HK Electric:
  6. For electricity accounts whose e-Bill and/or autopay services are cancelled, or changed to group bills within 24 months after receiving the incentive, HK Electric reserves the right to debit that awarded incentive.
  7. The following types of electricity accounts will not be eligible to receive the promotion offer:
    • accounts already using both e-Bill and autopay services before the Promotion Period; or
    • accounts already received a promotion offer in the previous e-Bill and autopay promotions; or
    • group bill accounts including all individual accounts under those group bills; or
    • unmetered accounts; or
    • developer accounts and all the terminated accounts under those developer accounts; or
    • electricity account of HK Electric employees.
  8. HK Electric has the right to disqualify the electricity account from participating in this promotion if there are any fraudulent acts by the electricity account holder.
  9. HK Electric will not be held liable for any loss in connection with this promotion.
  10. HK Electric reserves the right to change or terminate the promotion (in whole or in part) without prior notice.
  11. In case of any dispute arising out of, or in connection with, this promotion, the decision of HK Electric shall be final.
  12. HK Electric will handle all personal data collected in accordance with its Privacy Policy Statement.
