HKSAR 20th Anniversary e-Bill and Autopay Win-Win-Win

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the HKSAR, while promoting an environmentally friendly and low carbon lifestyle, HK Electric is conducting a special "HKSAR 20th Anniversary e-Bill and Autopay Win-Win-Win" promotion. The first 10,000 HK Electric customer accounts changing to use both e-Bill and autopay services during the promotion period between 1 June and 31 December 2017 will be rewarded with a one-off $97 incentive for offsetting electricity charges or for donating to one of the designated green groups.

All HK Electric customer accounts using both e-Bill and autopay services (whether the registration is within the promotion period) on 31 December 2017 can automatically enter into a lucky draw for winning $1,000 Fortress gift vouchers (128 winners). For accounts opened in 1997 and are using both e-Bill and autopay services (whether the registration is within the promotion period) on 31 December 2017, they will have a chance to win an additional $3,000 Fortress gift vouchers (20 winners).

Ways to apply Autopay service

  • For Residential Customers:
    • Call us at 2887 3411 to authorise the autopay setup with your savings or current accounts at any designated banks in Hong Kong.
    • Complete the Direct Debit Authorisation Form for any savings or current bank accounts in Hong Kong, and return the original copy to our Customer Centre.
    • Complete the autorisation form if you would like to setup the autopay with your DBS/COMPASS VISA/Bank of China/Chiyu Bank/Nanyang Commercial Bank credit cards, and return the original copy to our Customer Centre.
    • Call American Express Customer Service Hotline if you are the card holder (the telephone no. is printed on the back of your AE Card).
  • For Non-residential Customers:
    • Complete the Direct Debit Authorisation Form for any savings or current bank accounts in Hong Kong, and return the original copy to our Customer Centre.
    • Call American Express Customer Service Hotline if you are the card holder (the telephone no. is printed on the back of your AE Card).

(The direct debit authorisation process takes about 2-3 weeks to complete. Upon successful authorisation, your monthly bill will be paid automatically by debiting your bank account or credit card account on the eighth working day from the meter reading date.)

Terms and Conditions

  1. The promotion period is from 1 June 2017 to 31 December 2017 (both dates inclusive, also called "Promotion Period")
  2. The promotion offer of the one-off $97 incentive and the Lucky Draw is exclusive to HK Electric electricity accounts.
  3. Eligible HK Electric electricity accounts for the one-off $97 incentive refers to the accounts which are:
    • switching to e-Bill and autopay during the Promotion Period; or
    • currently using autopay and switching to e-Bill during the Promotion Period; or
    • currently using e-Bill and switching to autopay during the Promotion Period.
  4. The one-off $97 incentive will only be applicable to the first 10,000 HK Electric electricity accounts which completed the following procedures (whichever is later) during the Promotion Period:
    • completed all activation and verification processes for receiving e-Bills;
    • the autopay application is approved by the bank or designated credit card issuers.
  5. After completing the activation and email verification processes of our e-Bill service, and/or upon the approval of autopay application by the bank or designated credit card issuers (whichever is later), the $97 incentive will be automatically credited to each eligible HK Electric electricity account in the next electricity bill or arranged to donate to the designated green group.
  6. Eligible HK Electric electricity accounts will receive a one-off $97 incentive to offset electricity charges or the account's registered customer can choose to donate the $97 incentive to one of the following green groups via HK Electric:
    • The Conservancy Association
    • Friends of the Earth
    • Green Power
  7. For HK Electric electricity accounts which e-Bill service and/or autopay service are cancelled, or changed to group bills within 24 months of registration, HK Electric reserves the right to debit the one-off $97 awarded incentive.
  8. The following types of HK Electric electricity accounts will not be eligible to receive the $97 incentive:
    • accounts already using both e-Bill and autopay services before the Promotion Period; or
    • group bill accounts including all individual accounts under those group bills; or
    • unmetered accounts; or
    • developer accounts and all the final accounts under those developer accounts.
  9. The following HK Electric electricity accounts will be automatically entered into the Lucky Draw:
    • Special Prizes for Celebrating HK Electric's 128th Anniversary
      For celebrating HK Electric's 128th anniversary, all HK Electric electricity accounts using both e-Bill and autopay services (whether registering during the Promotion Period or not) as of 31 December 2017 will automatically enter into a Lucky Draw for winning $1,000 Fortress gift vouchers (128 winners).
    • Special Prizes for Celebrating The 20th Anniversary of The Establishment of the HKSAR
      All HK Electric electricity accounts opened in 1997 and are using both e-Bill and autopay services (whether registering during the Promotion Period or not) as of 31 December 2017, they will have a chance of winning further $3,000 Fortress gift vouchers (20 winners).
  10. The Lucky Draw is not applicable to the following types of HK Electric electricity accounts:
    • the e-Bill and/or autopay service has been cancelled on or before 31 December 2017;
    • group bill accounts including all individual accounts under those group bills;
    • unmetered accounts;
    • developer accounts and all the final accounts under those developer accounts.
  11. The Lucky Draw will be conducted by HK Electric on 19 January 2018 and the results will be announced on HK Electric corporate website and published in Sing Tao Daily and The Standard on 26 January 2018.
  12. The registered customer of the winning account of the Lucky Draw (Winner) will receive a notification letter sent to his/her contact email address of the AOL services and sent by post to the correspondence address of the HK Electric electricity account.
  13. The Winner (or his/her authorized representative) must redeem the prize on or before 30 April 2018, after which the prize will be forfeited.
  14. If the HK Electric electricity account is registered under a personal name, the Winner is required to provide the documents below for verification purpose upon prize redemption. The information must be identical to the information with the HK Electric electricity account.
    • HK ID Card or Passport Copy of the Winner
    • Original Copy of the Winner notification letter
  15. If the HK Electric electricity account is registered under a company's name, or the account is under a personal name but the Winner is not able to redeem the prize in person, the Winner may authorise a representative to collect it on his/her behalf with a prize redemption authorization letter which would be sent with the Winner notification letter. The authorized representative is required to provide the below documents for verification purpose upon prize redemption, and the information must be identical to the information with the HK Electric electricity account:
    • HK ID Card copy or Passport copy of the Winner (if the electricity account is registered under a personal name)
    • Business Registration Certificate copy (if the electricity account is registered under a company's name)
    • HK ID Card or Passport of the authorized representative
    • Original Copy of the Winner notification letter
    • Original copy of authorization letter (must have the Winner's signature / company chop)
  16. All prizes are non-transferable or non-refundable, nor exchangeable for cash or any other goods.
  17. HK Electric will not be responsible to Winners for any loss, damage or theft of the prizes once collected.
  18. Fraud and abuse of a customer will result in disqualification of his/her account from participating in this promotion.
  19. HK Electric employees' electricity accounts are not eligible for this promotion.
  20. HK Electric will not be held liable for any loss in connection with this promotion.
  21. HK Electric reserves the right to change or terminate the above promotional offer(s) (in whole or in part) without prior notice (except the Lucky Draw).
  22. In case of any dispute arising out of, or in connection with, this promotion, the decision of HK Electric shall be final.
  23. HK Electric will handle all personal data collected in accordance with its Privacy Policy Statement.
