On 7 September 2019, HK Electric won the Championships and 1st Runner-ups on both Cup and Plate competitions of the "Enterprise Category" of the Safety Quiz 2019. HK Electric also won the Highest Score Award and Highest Accumulated Score Award in the preliminary contest held on 13 July 2019. There were 252 teams from the government departments, public utilities and other local companies participating in the event.

Mr. Shiu Fu Ning, Computer Hardware Engineer of Transmission & Distribution Division (T&D), won a Bronze Award (Management - Corporation and Organisation Category) in the 12th Hong Kong Outstanding Occupational Safety & Health Employees Award. This award is an annual event organised by Occupational Safety and Health Council, Labour Department, LegCo Members (Functional Constituency – Labour) and Employee representatives of The Labour Advisory Board.
Scoring this award indicated that Mr. Shiu's occupational health and safety awareness, his active participation and planning in company's occupational health and safety activities as well as proactive improvement of health and safety of workplaces are highly recognised by the industry.

HK Electric Team and Other Partcipants
HK Electric won the Cup Champion of the "Enterprise Category" of the Safety Quiz 2017 and represented Hong Kong to compete with teams from Guangdong and Macau in the 9th Regional Safety Quiz. The 9th Regional Safety Quiz was hosted by Labour Affairs Bureau of Macau SAR and co-organised by Occupational Safety and Health Council of Hong Kong SAR and Administration of Work Safety of Guangdong Province. The Quiz aimed to encourage participants from the three regions to share their experiences in safety and health at work to enhance their OSH standards. The Quiz was held on 7 November 2017 in Macau. After four rounds of competition, HK Electric won the 1st runner-up in Enterprise Category.
Safety Incentive Schemes are introduced within the Company to motivate and arouse safety awareness and participation among employees. These schemes are tailored to meet specific objectives and being reviewed regularly.

Other activities include publishing Health and Safety Guidebook; organising Health and Safety Campaign, Exhibition, Road Show, Training Courses, Health & Safety Slogan Competition for Transmission and Distribution Division employees and contractors; producing Natural Gas Safety video for visitors and contractors; publishing a Natural Gas Safety booklet for maintenance personnel; organising and conducting various safety related seminars and training courses for HK Electric employees and conducting safety management study tours.
