Green Hong Kong Green

Green Hong Kong Green

To enhance the ecological value of Hong Kong and Lamma islands and promote sustainable development and environmental education, HK Electric and the Conservancy Association join hands to implement the Green Hong Kong Green (GHKG) project.

Under the project, 10 eco-heritage routes on Hong Kong and Lamma islands have been developed, with education panels en-route and more than 200 volunteer eco-leaders trained to conduct monthly eco-tours for the public. A set of eco-tour maps of Hong Kong Island and Lamma Island and a GHKG App are developed for nature lovers to explore the routes at their own pace.

A "Green Hong Kong Green Eco-tour Festival" is organised regularly to further encourage local citizens to learn more about Hong Kong's hidden eco-heritage treasures. The day-long event includes eco-heritage tours, a carnival featuring fun and educational games booths, hands-on workshops, talks and performances.

Other activities organised under GHKG include conservation activities, tree caring, mikania removal and public appeal on prevention of hill fire on Hong Kong and Lamma islands.
